Pros: Well made, Comfortable, Long cable
Cons: Sound could be better, Mic boom too short, Cable prone to twisting
Bottom Line: Not a bad headset for gaming but far better headsets available for music.
The TTLife G1000 is an affordable over ear gamer headset with microphone. They are full range (20-20kHz) with 50mm drivers. A 2.2m long cable has separate 3.5mm jacks for headphone and microphone. There is also a USB plug used to power the headset lighting.
The first thing to get out of the way is sound quality.
If your use case for these headphones is gaming and/or watching movies then there is a lot to like with these headphones as they have good bass and a clean enough sound for this usage. What they lack is a balanced frequency response. When it comes to music, depending on the style, they can sound really muted and flat.
You will need to adjust your microphone setting for you PC if you plan on using it, the arm is a little short and so you need to wind the gain up or you will sound very quiet. It is adequate quality for game voice comms or Skype etc.
Their soft ear pads and headband means they are comfortable to wear over prolonged periods.
The cable is a little thick, there are really three separate cables in a rectangular shroud to supply headphones, microphone and power via USB. The USB is only used to power the lighting in the headphones, I would happily swap the lighting for a thinner cable. The rectangular shape means that is a strange tendency to twist up over time.
You only really need to plug in the headphone and microphone jacks, the USB is only required if you want the lighting powered up. I tend to plug the USB in though as it is an extra anchor point and hence reduce any stress on the 3.5mm jacks if they get tugged.
The TTLife G1000 are really very sturdy. The two rods in the headband feel as though there are metal covered in rubber so should not break from stress over time. The Ear pads are soft and comfortable and the headphones have a mesh lining. Overall they have a quality feel well above their price band, mine have been through 6 months of daily use and look the same as when new.
The vendor gave no troubles and the product was shipped in a timely manner. I had no cause to contact the seller so can give no feedback on what they are like to deal with or how quickly they respond to messages.
As a pure gaming headset the TTLife G1000 performs well and at the price they are well worth it. They are best avoid though if you plan to listen to music, there are better sounding headphones out there that will give you far more enjoyment of your favorite tunes.
